Hi, Shiney, actually my Exochorda is in the initial throes of budding and flowering. I was worried about it as it has already flowered once due to that unusually warm period we had in the Winter. But it seems to have forgotten that and, hopefully, will flower well soon.

I did find a nice surprise in the bottom border near the pond which I had planted years ago and it had seemed to have disappeared:

I do like them and seeing it again makes me think I'll have to start a project to put a lot more in.:snork:

Yes, ARMANDII, the fritts are attractive. Ours have already finished.

Our exochordas are now in very full bud and starting to open. We had half an hour of heavy rain so it should get them going properly now. :dbgrtmb:

Thanks for that. Yes, it could well be the celandine. However, it seems i have different forms, as i also have a white and yellow flower - i'll wait until it get some more flowers and take a pic, as i had nipped all the heads off thinking it was a weed.

I have three forms of Ranunculus ficaria, Pixie, a white flowered green leaved form, a yellow flowered green leaved form, and a yellow flowered black leaved form. They all seem to seed readily.:snork:

Tulips a couple of days ago, can't remember the variety, but I personally prefer these to the tall goblet shaped flowers more often seen...:) :blue thumb:

Bilbo, its tulip tarda I think. got them too. Will try to grow some of the seeds this year, just for the fun of it. Will have to look up info about these seeds on the internet, but I guess I will sow them as soon as they are ripe and leave them outside over winter and everything will solve itself.. Read somewhere that for these purposes some fine grit on the surface avoids moss and weeds growing, might do that..

Here's my pics, Pixie, of the Ranunculus ficaria in my garden, I did know the names of the White flowered and Yellow flowered green leave forms but have forgotten them, and the black leaved yellow flowered form is call "Brazen Hussy".

I quite like the last form as it stands out amongst the greenery, and it will self seed quite easily.:snork:

Well, this is how my Exochorda is looking today. It's sort of mid way between coming into flower after getting confused and trying to flower in that warm period we had during the Winter.

But at least my borders are starting to look as though they know what they're doing!!

Having said that, I'm still finding lots of patches of seedlings that I have no idea of what they are.......half the fun of gardening, I guess.:snork:
