Well, I'm not a believer in UFO's or little green men, I'm afraid:biggrin: I was stationed at Midland Radar for 7 years servicing the stuff, and it felt like I was never out of the darkened Operations Room. We had a very wide range of coverage into Europe at the very least, and while no radar is perfect it was good. We had a file entitled "Unidentified/Unexplained Radar Paints" lying openly on the desk of the Duty Air Traffic Supervisor's desk. We could see every aircraft above 2000' within our range and, to be honest, a lot below that height too. That file remained there every day without being touched.....why??, because there were no sightings of the mysterious sort. The staff at Midland Radar were of mixed beliefs when it came to UFOs, some didn't believe and some did. I would hasten to add that those who did did so in hope and with no evidence. Despite the cynical attitude I think everyone operating the radar would have loved to see a mysterious object on the screens. I would also add that because we were such a closely knit Unit, and a bunch of rebels, there would have been no way that any incident could have be covered up.:snork: So, I still remain cynical, and a rebel, and for my own reasons still don't believe they were sonic booms.:nonofinger:

:oopss: The kids got given a "Solar Baloon" A great long cigar shaped thing that when blown up, absorbs the heat from the sun to make a hot air baloon.

Last thing I said to them was make sure you keep hold of the string. Oh no, 10 minutes later it was sailing off into the Somerset skies.

That was some time last summer.

            Thats the one.

Excuse me, [say he as he wipes nose with his fingers, adjusts school cap on mop of hair, hoists up shorts and put his frog back in his pocket], Me and Ziggy never fall out as we can never remember whose round it is and we wouldn't want to lose out on a pint.:ccheers::snork:
