Hi guys, I have a 3 yr old fushia that was given to me. All I know is that is not a hardy variety. However, it is now in a very large pot and will have nowhere indoors later this year to store it over winter! Would it be safe do you think to plant it in my garden and leave it now in a west facing or east facing bed. Dare I risk it? Thank you

It depends on what type of Fuschia it is. Do you know the name of it, or post a picture for us please. :)

Hi, I believe it's called 'Blacky'. Quite large dark red and purple flowers.

'Blacky' is not frost hardy. But if you are prepared to take the risk of planting it out, you could always surround it in fleece during periods of frost. I would also suggest you plant it west facing and not east because of it's tenderness. :)

You can always plant it deeper than it is in the pot, like double the depth. Next autumn put a 4 inch mulch on top of it.
Dont plant it yet wiat untill end of May when all the frosts have gone.
