Years IME. All the ones I have bought as cheap special-offers (from T&M and van Meuwen) have come to nothing ... but I do have some larger ones brought with me when we moved here (although they reputedly hate being moved)

I'd be interesed to know how long the ones in Shiney's front garden have taken to get to the size they are - they are a respectable bush now :blue thumb:

That one has been there about ten years but has been giving at least 20 blooms for seven or eight of them. I have another (different) tree peony that this will be its second season and has at least six buds on it (haven't counted them). The one in the picture stands about 3.5 - 4 ft high and the other one must be nearly that height.

ARMANDII, I can see a photo in Angelina's post No. 70

Mmmmmmmmmmm Bullguard doesn't seem to like Angelina's link, Shiney!!! It's blocking the site and coming up with address of pishmanladysnimka.bg/flowers/gradina, which is possibly why I can't see pics in the post supported by that site.:dunno:

Hi ARMANDII and Shiney, your peony photos of last year look so fantastic and so much like works of art :blue thumb: that it actually embarrasses me to see my album as the reason for 'digression No. 2' on the Peony thread.

I was not aware of any problems so far.
      Here is a Facebook link:

I'll create a Picasa album for the current year if problems persist.

By the way, I think I was able to count 5 buds on the red tree peony (the nameless variety) and two on Xue Ta.

My new herbaceous varieties all have one or two buds each (I can't wait to see them, really!). :hapydancsmil:

What I find extremely unfair, however, is that all your peonies will flower earlier. :WINK1:

Hi Angelina, don't worry about the "digression", it makes things interesting!!! My Bullguard security system just couldn't get it's head around the site you were using and did it's job of blocking something it didn't like:paladin::snork:

Our paeonies will flower earlier, that's true, but when we've finished enjoying them you'll be starting to enjoy yours. I haven't got any buds on any of the nine of mine so far they're still making growth and seem to be growing inches a day. Has the Paeonie in the pic got a name?:snork:

None that I know of. The shrubs have been in the place for longer than 30 years and it took me several seasons to get them flowering again. Last autumn, I moved some to sunnier positions and I'm curious how they will perform.

You've done well to get them to flower again, Angelina, you must have the touch. See if you can post a few close ups of the flowers and leaves and we'll try to i.d. them:snork:

This is the fern-leaf peony. No buds, it's still a baby. :wub2:

It's the same site, sorry. I tried last night to upload on the forum 'album' feature, but it has some size limitations. Facebook also shrinks the images.

Unfortunately my security system won't accept the pics from the site you're using:mad:

Does it not allow you to override with specific Domains that you want to "allow" ?
