The contents are a classic example of consumer power, when they first came out they were full of additives, after a bit of a revolt by customers they removed nearly all of them, i'm quite happy to eat one now, just noodles & dried veg & soya really, nothing wrong with that:dbgrtmb:

I'm with you Clueless on the use of yoghurt pots for growing plants, I've been doing it for a few years now. Only yesterday, I made my first sowing of Sweet Corn in some old yoghurt pots.

I've also got a couple of large compost bins made from some old wooden floorboards rescued from work, which were otherwise going to be thrown away or burnt. Got the idea and plans from one of my favourite, well thumbed gardening books, 'Successful Organic Gardening' by Geoff Hamilton. :love30:

If you can get hold of old football goal nets, they are great for keeping pigeons off your brassicas. The holes are still big enough though, to allow the smaller birds like Tits and Robins etc. to get in there and sort out the aphids and whitefly. :dbgrtmb:

Have got a big thing in mind, but I ought to photograph it before adding it. Will do that when i'm able to.

The big plastic garden trugs are selling at £3 now (Asda ) with a few holes in the bottom are just the job for container veggie growing.
The £1 plastic 10 litre buckets , B and Q et al , make good large indestructible light plant pots. Got my canna rhizomes in them now.
Plastic vending machine coffe cups with a hole pierced in the bottom make great 3" plant pots.
Bamboo BBQ / Kebab skewers £1 for a 100 make goood little plant stakes.

I bought half a dozen 15 litre Wilkos buckets for 97p each as big pots for starting off my cannas and bananas. Trouble is I just couldn't bring myself to drill a hole through a brand new bucket, so I went around the neighbours and swapped these new ones for their old ones. Somehow drilling a drainage hole in an old bucket doesn't feel too bad.

As well as the big pop bottles for mini-cloches I use redundant storage boxes. I get one or two damaged ones from our offices and use them for a season or so (until they go brittle) then off to the recycle centre.
