As buckets got mentioned, lets not forget that sometimes Morrison's sell packs of 8 buckets for 99p. Its apparently the buckets that the cut flowers arrive in. I've got various shrubs growing in them while they wait for a more permanent home, and I keep two for compost bins for the kitchen, ie one being filled, while the other is outside having been emptied into the big compost bin, and waiting for me to remember to clean it ready to come back in.

Oh, and seeing as I mentioned the big compost bin, what I meant to say was my standard council issue green waste wheelie bin, which has never been put out since I moved here. Instead I've drilled some breathing holes in it and all our very peelings, used tea bags etc, and of course weed pullings and whatever else all go in it.

I use old off cuts of bamboo canes and push them into hanging baskets and wedge against the wall so stop them blowing around when it's breezy:blue thumb:

I waste nothing plastic...all containers and food trays get used for seedlings and cuttings.Plastic egg boxes are ideal for seeds with the hinged lid closed to retain moisture. I save packaging for meat and chicken portions for pots on the windowsills..saves splashing water all over the place...

Here's another of my recycle - reuse efforts. Grow-bag containers from old pallets and laths, and the top rail is an old broom handle.

That is what I use too, only started gardening last April, and I thought hmmm use that old light grey venetian blind cut up rather than lolipop sticks
Then I came on here in May and it is a common thing Great minds think alike

an old log transformed into a wooden pot (needs lots of skill and really sharp chisels)

                use coconut shel as pots[IMG]
with the use of fiber glass and a paint brush you can transform a normal terracotta pot into a water features.
