which spuds next and when?

    scenario ....swifts have gone in and seem to be doing fine , a. when will i harvest them , but inbetween that harvest can i put some more in so i can yield spuds for a long period , i am fairlly new to this i have heard about ealries and all that but dont know the names and times thet should be planted.

    Yes it's time to plant maincrop now. These take a while longer to mature (harvest Aug/Sept) but you get a bigger yield and they will store over the winter.

    Could you name a few spuds to plant please I am a complete novice at this , but I am taking all the advice in , cheers for any info

      Cara - All rounder, blight resistant too, Desiree for Mash, Maris Piper or Markies for chips or good ol King Edwards for the best roasties !
