Apart from the South East most places are going to have a heavy frost tonight.

Earth up your spuds, cover tender plants with fleece, bring indoors what you can.

We had a frost last night as well. I am fair worn out with moving heavy pots of tender plants into and out of my summerhouse and greenhouse.

Sometimes I think it would be easier if the frost got them and they died - at least I could then relax.

:) Us to in then back out fleece on and off and now on for good.

I even put a post on the knitting thread on my forum .

That we should be knitting or crocheting plant blankets or pot plant covers.

        Instead of baby blankets.

Aah, reminds me of my Nan, she used to knit Balaclavas for the soldiers in the war.

After the war she used to knit them for small terrorists organisations.

This cold night has been forecast for a weelk or so now. I've been leaving some leaf damaged pots of toms out for a few days now, but they didn't suffer until last night. I've just come back indoors from checking the thermostatic propane heater in my big greenhouse and lighting a blueflame paraffin heater together with setting up an electric thermostatic heater in my auxillary 'pop up' greenhouse. Also closed up all polytunnel vents early this afternoon and dropped the coldframe lights.

What's that big new supermarket up above Ilfracombe (beyond the dump)? Another flippin rubbish place as last time I was there a while ago they didn't sell fish (for bait) of any description whatsoever.

Been out and covered all my spuds with fleece and some cardboard, it's still heavy cloud cover here though and 7 degrees so fingers crossed it doesn't clear..

It seam that this lovely weather will keep us company up to the end of may , today was 7c where I live , while we had 15c in christmas day.
I`ve popped to my nursery to get some compost , it was almost empty for a busy spring saturday and most sad of all , most off the flowers and plants where almost all dead.
