Somerset was a bit wet so we went North West.

Stopped on Exmoor to have a look at the old engine house.

Left my camera in the car at Lynton but the moment was saved by some lovely people, one of which, Alison, promptly joined GC to send me some pictures:dbgrtmb:

Big thanks to Alison & family.

The next day saw a visit to Arlington Court, never mind the big house, heres some of the walled garden.:snork:

The Stable Block, which houses the Carriage collection.

See that Eel in the Herons Beak on the top, Zig fixed that.

This Granary was moved from another property that burnt down.

Nice photos Ziggy, it's a long time since I was at Lynton/Lynmouth but have great memories. Lovely part of the country.

The Freelander loved the 1 in 4 hills, Willow & I had to push on the dashboard to help it up them:snork: Not many driving situations make me break out in a sweat:hate-shocked:

 Ooh Zigs you & Willow are going to some lovely places & all in the areas I love...!

Ooh I am soo jealous of you going to the walled garden.. Bimble, another GC member worked at Shugborough in the walled garden until very recently..I was going to get "a tour" but not now sadly.. He is now re-locating South, so maybe at his new work place though :yay: Oh yes just been given another Harry Dodson book too Zigs..

I hope you are putting these photos somewhere safe, cos these times are special for you both.. I have memories of with my dad in a similar fashion & those pics are special to me now

I love Willow, the" rainbow in the green"..

Didn't come from a shop in Lynton by any chance? (that's where Mrs Scrungee's one with a hood came from, another was from Rainbow's End in Swanage).

Didn't stop to shop in Lynton Scrunge, it was getting on & we hadn't sorted out a b&b by then.

Got it in Glastonbury last week, amazing what Dad's end up buying when we were meant to be shopping for a prom dress:doh:

Was the shop in Swanage a double one with only one front door open?

              Lovely pictures Ziggy. :dbgrtmb:

Way back when I nearly burnt my brakes out going down there in a heavy old Triumph 2000. I had to pull over to let them cool off and held everyone up in the process. Embarrassing! :)

Got a few things from that shop in Swanage Scrunge, Willow says my new shirt is pink, I thought it was purple:doh:

                Tie-dye?

Shame you didn't have time for shopping in Lynton, there's 1 charity shop, 2 antique junk shops, the 'outdoor' shop (with the Weirdfish stuff in the window) is reasonably priced and they also sell a few bits of fishing stuff - ideal for some emergency hooks & frozen bait (and really cheap walking boot insoles). But if I only stop at one place it's got to be the community 2nd hand bookshop at the side of the Town Hall - had loads of bargain stuff from there. And don't miss the tossing coins into the hat (might be a bucket now) at the Community Hospital.
