We have a big block paved drive ( 100 foot x 20 +) - weve cleaned it but were getting a problem with weeds - Dandelions , grasses and general rubish

Weve tried a path clear (the dissolvable tea bag type things )and they werent up to much - weve also tried some RTU spray stuff from Aldi (pelorganic acid based ) and that worked quite well but theyve run out of it and weve already tipped 8 litres on it

In an ideal world id spray it all with sodium cholrate but we can get it :(

Any sugestions on what to use - we dont grow anything near it it (rest of the front is gravel )

Next door have veg plot pretty close (they arnt gardeners and TBH there dandelion farmers which is part of the trouble )

    Hi Carl,

I use round up on mine, but i use the one that you dilute yourself not the pre mixed stuff, as i found this works quicker. I sprayed my front drive on Sunday and the weed are already showing sighs of dying. I mix 5ltr at a time in a spray bottle and apply it that way.

    Hope this helps.

Glyphosate will do it, follow the instructions though.

If its drive and no plants nearby why not put some road salt or rock salt down that will see off most things and inhibit regrowth for some time. (Just look at the roadside verges where salt has been used).
My experience with glyphoste based weed killer is, make the solution up slightly weaker than the instructions, its just as effective.

These days I tend to use Gallup Biograde Amenity Glyphosate Weed Killer. It's easy enough to buy from pretty much all of the internet based supply companies.

Use a strong dilution of ordinary thick household bleach. Brush it in with a stiff broom, leave for about two hours (if possible in dry weather), hose down. It will lift the colour of your brickwork & kill moss and weeds.

Personally I find Roundup to be the best domestic herbicide.

Seeing as bleach has been mentioned though, does anyone know if you can still buy caustic soda crystals? That stuff used to chew its way through just about everything.
