I am amazed Wayne. None of mine are anywhere near flowering. In fact last year's plants, which I overwintered in a frost free greenhouse, have only just started to put out tiny sprouts of foliage. In fact some haven't even done that yet - or are those called dead .

      How warm was your greenhouse?

HPIM0004.JPG She coloured up a little this morning before I went to work. This was in the greenhouse with the other's , none of which came back as fast as this one. I left the heater on above 6 degree's, and my greenhouse resembled a martian spacship with the amount of silver bubblewrap I had. The mian problem I had was that some plant's withered, normally it;s damp fungis that gets them.

      Here's the picture

This sad picture is the first flower of the year. The Brug had been moved inside and outside the house so many times with frost warnings that at least 10 or 15 flower buds had been knocked off. But the largest had remained until today when I moved it outside again, and the flower fell off. So irrespective of the weather all my Brugs are now outside. The flower colour inside is a very pale yellow. but last year later in the season and outside the colour was a deep yellow

This is my Brug jungle. All of these had overwintered in a frost free summerhouse and/or greenhouse. No more moving - they are now staying outside. Some of the sticks have died back fairly low, but almost all are showing signs of life.

Glad they've come through the winter for you all, lets hope we have some sustained warm weather for some growth for us all. Looking foward to seeing your blooms this summer.

I've got some cuttings in bud that hopefully will bloom soon, and I'll share any pictures on this forum.

I got really lucky with ther Yellow Aurea in the greenhouse, but the other two, Mobisu and Arborea they flower at lower tempertures luckily. I'd recommend having a Arborea if you love Brugs, the scent is knockout and the flowers last quite a long time, plus you get the odd lemon shaped seedpod on them too for future seedlings.

Chin up everyone, Brugs grow fast, we'll be ok:blue thumb:

Hi Penny - any signs of life yet? I have small green sprouts from most. But even the ones that look very dead - if I scratch off a bit of bark at the bottom, the stem is green and looks healthy.

I over wintered it at my husbands shop, it had tons of leaves, looked good....brought it home this past weekend, had it sitting in the shade, gave it a wee bit of fertilizer, and all of the leaves have fallen off.
I did notice however, that the stems have tiny buds on them....and thats a first?

Indeed, its great having your posts and pictures, cheers me up no end and I look forward to mine flowering in a little while. In truth my garden-time is really divided this year as I have taken on way too much to be able to tackle well, so they get some water (but probably not every day), they only get fed once a week or so, are seriously overdue for repotting in some fresh, rich, compost - and maybe a bigger pot - and more importantly they need some sun and warmth to get them cracking - which we just have not had since March in East Anglia ... garden flooded again this morning (and the rain wasn't that bad overnight) - in other threads I posted that we pumped around 200 cu.m. out of the soakaway last week ...

Anyways, looking forward to Brug Flowering Season in KGarden soon !!

Have another Yellow Aurea flowering, not the same one as I've showed before. I found this Brugmansia named as Bi-color, which is debatable.
Anyway, this one has six points to it and is a really vibrant yellow.
