GC is still running just fine for me. But I have problems with the new metoffice site it is taking ages to change pages, I've given up using that now, strange that this slow problem is only affecting a few of us.

GC is fine for me, Anglers Net is a bit slow, photobucket freezes unless you let all the ads load before clicking anything.

Got a link to that new metoffice site John? I'll see what thats like for me to load.

I'm plugged directly into my router not wireless at the moment as a test. So far so good. It's now looking like I have wireless issues within my computer.

Yes it is awful, the metoffice changed their software recently and I've found it unusuable. I had no trouble with their old site, must be something to do with all the new animations they load on there.

Is it anything to to with this new Analogue to Digital switch over? They are replacing connection boxes in towns I believe? I am way out of my depth here so if you'll excuse me, I'm swimming back to shore,

Jenny, I don't think it's anything to do with the switch from analogue to digital. My area was one of the first to be changed over and that's more than two years ago. :)

Too much info on one page, its awful, I'm still using the old site.

I have on a few occasions.
Got a very long winded reply the other day, seems they know it awful, but its new, so they are going ahead.
If it aint broke, dont fix it, comes to mind.

I'm kind of hoping they know how many hits the new site is getting and how many the old.
So I'm not going anywhere near the new one.

I just had a major blip in GC site performance. I quickly hit CTRL+Shift+I to see what's going on. Lots of errors in the console. One indicated the briefest possible outage of my internet connection (nothing to do with GC) but the rest were all from Xenforo, except one, a 404 resource could not be loaded, which was for a page entirely outside of the GC domain.

In laymans terms, it looks like GC is dependent on something outside of GCs control, and that is never good, as if the remote resource is temporarily unavailable, it will cause the whole site to just stop until the browser decides to timeout that request and move on.

I'll try to catch it again so I can be more specific as to what it is.

I've found over the last two days that GC has been exceptionally fast. I have a slow download rate but GC has been loading pages in 5 seconds instead of the normal 10 - 20 seconds - and posting when I've finished typing only takes a few seconds as well. :dancy:
