An emotional weekend

Some of you are aware that two of my three children emigrated last year within four months of each other. My younger daughter to Vancouver, Canada and my son to Columbus, America.

A year ago tomorrow my daughter landed in Canada with her boyfriend and on Sunday it's her birthday. My son married an American in October and tomorrow they move into their first house together having lived with his in-laws until now.

How I wish I could be there. I still miss them both so much.

 

Sheal I can't believe it's been a year already......I'm sure you miss them very much....chin up girl...X

 

Thanks for the 'prop' lolimac. I hope the weathers good all weekend, I need to take my mind off it and do some serious gardening.

 

Blimey time does fly...goin to be mostly sunny tomo sheal so get stuck in they will be missing you so much too x

Had too much fish pie earlier. No room to stuff my face, but grappling with a bottle of red or two

 

Fish pie sounds good, any left? It doesn't taste quite the same when it's 'virtual' though.

 

It was lovely, all gone now though. Planning a boat fishy trip tomorrow.

 

Hope the weather's good for you. I wonder how a certain other (mutual) person's fishy trip is going?

Sheal, we are all feeling your pining here on GC. Skype is really great. We keep in touch with Nepalese friends in Nepal AND Vancouver. Its free which is incredible in this day and age and it does bring them closer to you. Do hope you can organise a link somehow.
My thoughts are with you today too.xx Most precious thing is their happiness , we all know that about our kids in a far away place.xx

wow a year already ! time really has flown, i am sorry that you wont be there is person to help them move and see their first real home, but you know that they are happy and as others have said you can skype them and have the virtual tour later,
