People on other forums have disbelieved me when I have said this - glad that it's not just me that has tried them outdoors. Two year old plants in baskets look really good as the babies put out babies.

still have them in the greenhouse and they are just reshooting now , overall I think it my fauld if I`ve lost them , got away 2 years without any mulching and actually they where planted in a clay soil , I want to retry this years , but will give a sand soil , and a favorite location .... I know how common they are but still look so tropical .
I think this picture was taken at the end of june , as by October they where 3 time bigger , found the green spider the most hardy of all .

It looks a cracker ... but I still prefer the wider leaves of Musa sikkimensis ... well ... with my limited knowledge mine look like they will be wider, but it may be wishful thinking! I'll tell you when both my Sikkis and Basjoo are a season or two older :)

Still staggering how much growth they can put on, compared to ... oh I don't know ... a Petunia? :snork:

Will Giles (Norwich Exotic Garden) has Tradescantia (sp?) growing outside, which everyone told him was not possible. I think I've got that right ... I saw it in his garden last Summer, just not 10)% sure I've remembered the name correctly

tradescantia fluminensis it one of my fovorite , put a cutting in a pond and will become a water plant , put it in sand and will be a succulent , didn`t watered one for 4 months and start to shoot new roots all over.

Going back to the Spider Plants, mine have lived outdoors here for years but must say NOT in the sun but shady locations.

I also have Tradescantia tri-colour where the strips go across the leaf not following the leaf ... can't find the name ... beautiful plant.

All live outdoors in the shade.

          Just found mine ...

My Iochroma cyanea 'Plum Paradise' has much larger clusters of blooms this year but is leggy so will cut it back today/tomorrow ... shame to have to lose so many flowerheads ...

And my candy-striped Amaryllis which did nothing for me last year (only the leaves getting eaten) is looking good ...

Also Brugmansia is in second flush with about 10 blooms and lots of new buds following ...
