Moved house last Autumn and along with it came this pond...
Anyway I haven't a clue what to do with it and how to look after it.
In it there appears to be algae growing uncontrollably from the rocks around the edge and also there is other gunk attaching itself to everything else like the pump, baskets and pipes etc...
So how do i get it looking nice and clean again?
Things I have done are replace the uv lamp in the filter, put some 'pond clear' in it & put some barley straw in it too.

    Help!

Sounds like it could be 'blanket weed' WW....I've never tried Barleystraw so i can't help there but i've got a stick i've put nails in (like teeth) and i twizzle it in the pond(like making candy floss) does the trick lovely:dbgrtmb: Thats just my crude attempt but someone will be along with more experience and advice:)

Hey smartie, think you maybe right. Does it cling to the rocks around the edge etc? Sorry to sound so vague, as you can tell, I've never owned a pond before

Yes a stick really is the best thing, but like candy floss, the stick does not need nails.

Save your money, by the time you have decided what to buy, tried it found out it doesn't work, you could have done the job.
Just like candy floss once you start the remainder just follows on, so it should not take long.
