My Hotmail account hacked

Yikes ....

tried to log into my hotmail account this morning and I received a message stating that my account was hacked and temporarily shut down

tried to log in on my wife's laptop and got the same message .... there was a link stating that you need to give your mobile number, and hotmail will send a verification code to resume your hotmail

filled in the details and received a code on my phone within seconds .... had to change my hotmail password again on the form .... hotmail is up and running again

I'm just worried that perhaps the link was from some or other spam site and now they have my phone number .... I am already getting 3-4 calls per day from companies trying to sell me insurance or mobile phone contracts

there were several messages sent to contacts on my homail account ... checked the one on my wifes email, but her antivirus has blocked it .... the hack site is linked to this site:

and on that link, there are many reports of other people also having their emails hacked

sometimes at night, I dont log off my laptop, and just close the lid/screen, which then puts the laptop in sleep mode .... The antivirus that I use is AVG, so obviously this is not 100% effective?
