We have quite a lot of lilac around the garden - purple, white and different shades of pink. Some of them are doubles

The Saphora hasn't done too well this year and hasn't much flower

Even last year's cabbages can give some colour

The Saphora may not have done much, but anything from those is fantastic if you ask me! Been on my list a while and I finally have the space.

Thanks to Angelina I think I have identified a Rhododendron I have, which is my best "flowerer" each year.
It looks identical to her "Percy Wiseman".
By next week, hopefully it will be covered in blooms from top to bottom. At the moment there are about 20 buds that are just opening with many more showing dark pink edging.

            Diplarrhena moraea.............

            DSC_2121.jpg

It's not the most floriforous of plants, but the blooms are seriously eyecatching. Stands about 25cm tall and needs the protection of a cold frame for the winter.

Nemophila menziesii 'Pennie Black' – these are all self sown from last years bedding. I’ve been pulling them up like weeds all winter, tough as old boots they are making a fantastic show.

JWK - is the Brunnera invasive? If not it could be just what I'm looking for.

                  Love the Corydalis Simbad!

Not invasive. I've grown it for the lovely variagated leaves amongst the tropical border, it's a good low growing filler plant, the flowers are a bonus this time of year.
