Built another raised bed, unfortunately I've ran out of time to plant up as I need to pick my son up and feed him so I will have to plant it up tomorrow. Moved all plants out of greenhouse and cold frame and gave them a good soak. Potted up toms into there final position.

You'll be better in no time Jack. In the meantime, feet up and read your new books :WINK1:

I've watered all the plants front and back with watering cans. Even though they'd been watered at the weekend they'd dried out, especially the containers. Gave them a good drench and by the time I'd finished both water butts were empty.

Now I'm feeling quite pleased that my bathroom water runs into the downpipe too cos I'll connect the water butt up and have some of that for next time I water.

Not much, but I reckon once those petunias get going, it will really take make things look better.

And last for this post, the azaelia that I decided to move and try to rescue:

Thanks Armandii - there isn't a lot I can do with the drive at the side of this house. or the garden at the front as they are so small - thankfully the back garden is a lovely size, and in some ways I think that is better anyway, as the back garden gets more use.

At least it looks better now than it did before we moved in:

I forgot to take a photo of the baskets i put up at the back of the drive, and of the hanging basket tree that I have waiting to go in the front garden - will try and do that tomorrow. :)

Once those petunias take off it'll be a riot of colour down there. Will you be able to park/open the car door to get in or out? Or maybe sell the car and get another when the floral display is over?

if I were a slug or snail I'd being drooling over the thought of a trip to that bed once you've got your head down. Watch out for the little blighters:paladin: FC

The last of my bedding plants have gone in today. I can't believe it took me four hours! Then washed all the pots and trays, which are now drying in the greenhouse. I made a pact with myself this year to clean them up and get them stored as soon as I'm finished with them. :) I spent an hour or so watering pots this evening.

I spent most of the day lugging big pots of Cannas, Bananas, the Orange, Lemon, and Kumquash bushes out of the Cool Room and Kitchen onto what I call the Patio [my working space really!!]. Then I cleaned them up by cutting out the dead vegetation, repotting about 5 of the Cannas into bigger pots, watering and feeding them. Then I brushed out and cleaned out a space by the Green House for a temporary resting place for them while I work out where they'll go in the borders. A quick trip to Nantwich to pick up four Ferns I'd ordered from a Market Nursery friend of mine. It cost me £15 for the four which probably saved me around £10 so I came away pleased.:snork: Then I moved the 18 big pots to their temporary resting [finished in a sweat!:phew:]. A mug of tea and a sit in the Arbour to contemplate the garden and think through a few ideas for the plants in the Green House. I wanted to plant the newly bought Ferns by the East side of the pond to soften the strip of land where the new climbing Roses, planted last Autumn, are as it looks a bit bare. So with a trowel and a crate of Ferns I went down to the pond and planted them where I thought was the best places.......time will tell!!:dunno: And then another mug of tea and a sit in the Arbour.:coffee:

Thankfully, there is plenty of room Jenny, and I kinda need my car to get me to work to feed my gardening habit  - and just after taking that photo, I set to with the slug pellets on everything I'd just planted, and all the baskets, tubs and pots. Found a snail snuggled up in the polytunnel, so evicted him - apparently he had filled his belly on some of my seedlings and then curled up to go to sleep (cheeky wee blighter).

I think the holiday did the reverse, Sheal, as I have to fight the impulse to close my eyes while having the mug of tea in the Arbour

Having seen the photos of your borders I would have thought that there is no space!!!!

Gave myself the day off today and did not dig at all!!!
Instead, I potted on some Isoplexis, Iochroma and Lobelia valida seedlings. Pricked out the Fuchsia procombens seedlings that continue to germinate, and the first two Fuchsia boliviana seedlings that have germinated (thanks PeterS).
All the time I was keeping an eye on how the sun lands in this new garden and was able to site some plants. Amongst them was Impatiens balfourii, more Lobelia tupa, Leonotis nepetifolia and Nicotiana (langdorfii and sylvestris). As the next two weeks are looking good (they had better be right about that) I sunk the best pot of Gloriosa suberba into the ground at the foot of an arch - this could look really good if the summer is good.
Turned the compost, and then had to actually water things!
