Thanks, Loli, it should contrast with some Hostas around it.
It seems strange buying plants when have grown them at work for the last thirty plus years.:rolleyespink:

Me too :) Got a couple of them, and lots of cuttings under-the-bench, fingers crossed for them :)

Got a bit carried away today as "bulbs" were half price - those Taylor's packet things, bone dry ... hopefully I haven't wasted my money, but I sorted through the pile carefully to try to find ones that were sprouting and still firm ...

4 x [Bearded] Iris Black Dragon
4 x Nerine Codora (which will hopefully be a decent Red for my "Hot Border")

6 x Lilium Nerone - a 6' tall chap, and again hopefully a red suitable for the hot border
6 x Lilium Casa Blanca, which should be aout 4' tall

        All for £16.50 :)

Have you not tried growing gypsophilia from seed? Just chuck it in the ground and it comes up brilliantly.

Went to our little nursey for people with learning difficulties. Always a cheery welcome and a happy, carefree atmosphere. They grow lovely plants, mostly £1 per pot and a goodly variety of annuals and perrenials too. They are called Friary Gardens, St Leonards on sea and there is a webpage. This lot (6 red geraniums and 10 misc.) came to £13 so someone couldn't count !! Window boxes and planters around the grounds to do ,ready for the Britain in Bloom judging on July 15th- category "It's your neighbourhood". Have won top prize for the last 2 Friary Gardens plants 23 may 2012 002 (1024x768).jpg consecutive years.
