Oooooh!!!!, you meant the roses, Jenny???:snork: The only rose to suffer badly from Black Spot is Masquerade. But it's such a nice rose that I can forgive that, plus I do give it a quick fungicide spray before the insects get active. As for the five climbing roses that I bought as dry roots last Autumn I really don't know, I guess time will tell.:coffee:

          It isn't a Roses Thread - it's a Photo thread isn't it?:stirpot:
In my case it's theoretical - the nearest I have to a Rose is when I got up this morning.
My roses are weeeeeks away yet.

:) My avatar is Oranges and Lemons which I have had for many years and I introduced Woo to it I believe a couple of years ago. My other favourite which I have had for about 10 years is Sunseeker, an irridescent orange climber. Both are scented and in bloom now so may get some pics later.

I bought this patio rose from Morrisons for a few quid - turned out it was four plants in one pot so I've given them each their own pot :blue thumb:

I bought it because I love the colour :wub2:

Never content to stop at one, I subsequently went and bought a cream patio rose and a fragrant rose 'Double Delight' from B&Q (they were on offer, two for a tenner).

                      speaking of roses ....

I planted several bare root roses a week and a half ago .... I've planted bare root before, but in autumn

how long does it take before I start seeing some growth? .... some of them were supplied with no buds at all .... I soaked them in water for 5hrs before planting and once in the ground, I watered well ....

yesterday, I watered well again (soil is damp ... I don't want to let them dry out, but am worried that it's a bit late for bare root?) ...

It's a bit late for bare root plants, *dim*, but roses are pretty tough. Is the wood green and sappy? Are there leaf buds on the canes (they may be tiny, just little pips)? If so, they will probably be ok.

You will have to keep watering if the weather goes on like this, though.
