Now it's light Armandii and Iv'e sobered up, I can see the Arbour in Piccie no.7. Also, is that Astrantia "Venice" in no.9? Grateful for the leaf ID. I will go and check the border for mine now - hope it's made it. YES! IT IS THERE. 8" HIGH WITH 5 STEMS - hooray , it's made it! It was a lovely stroll last night, thank you,
      Jenny

Hi Jenny, the Astrantia is A. Major "Hadspen Blood, I've also got a couple of White Astrantia and a pink one. I first saw them years ago at Powis Castle and fell in love with them. They're an understated plant which you don't see all that often.:snork:

As usual, your garden is showing it is earlier than ours. One of our Astrantias is only just opening (a white one) and no sign yet of the others coming out to sunbathe. That one of yours is a lovely rich colour :dbgrtmb: .

What are the Lace Caps? You've surely not got Hydrangeas that far ahead already? (Leaves don't look right for them either ... but I've had to eat my hat before!)

Thanks Nick, but I think you've got it wrong about us giving you the inspiration as I truly, and I'm not alone in this, believe it is you that has inspired us. Your outright enthusiasm, honesty and enjoyment in the the things you do has been like a breath of fresh air!! A lot of members will agree with me when I say that we get a lot of enjoyment out of your enjoyment.:snork: Meeting you was a real honour and I think you and I recognised a kindred spirit in our enjoyment of things. What you and I talked about regarding gardening and our different approaches is true and I have said it publicly on GC earlier. You are that rare person who can actually interpret the glorious idea in your head through your hands to create something that will make peoples jaw drop and make them go :wow:......and that's not a compliment it's just the plain truth.:snork: It is also something I cannot do, nor can I sing, dance or whistle so I'm well short of any skills..........but I'm not jealous...........really.......Oh, well....Yes I am!!!:lunapic 130165696578242 5:

Hi Kristen, no, you're correct it's not a Hydrangea:snork: The "Lace caps" are, in fact, Viburnun. I say Lace caps as there are two there in the pic, one being V.Tinus and the other, I think, showing mainly is V. Plictatum "Lanarth" which my wife chose. Believe it or not, there is a path under all that white"!!!
