Well it is finally here. You either love it or hate it. I love it.

Utter kitch, drama queens, bizarre songs, farcical national costumes, the hilarious fixed scoring tactics, some good unpretentious fun for the evening.

I think we are in for Russian grannies trying to raise cash for a new church  , Englebert (check out the rug) singing his heart out for good old blighty :snork: . Apparently nobody wants to win because no European country can really afford to host it next year :WINK1:

A nice little rioja will go down nicely.

Just seen our Engelbert, he did his best but his voice lacks power now, should have asked Sir Tom Jones instead!!

I think they should forget the songs and just have a penalty shoot out. Not sure Engelbert's legs are up to it these days, though.

I only watched one evening and my favourite was SAN MARINO. I would be really curious to know what criteria they have applied to make the selections for the competition, because I find most songs unbearable...

For me, it's a waste of time. I thought our entry wasn't half bad, but to come second last? We should pull out and let them get on with it.

I thought the UK was an embarrassment to be honest ... a lovely person with a lovely voice but well past his sell buy date. Surely the UK can come up with something to compete in this current modern day music ... surely ... :dunno:

                I liked Germany.

Hiya Vicky. TBH, I didn't watch it, I'm just going on what I heard on the radio, and it seemed an ok tune to me, not my thing, but ok. Speaking of 'sell by date', weren't the Russian grannies past theirs? To me, it just goes to show there's too much voting for neighbours, so therefore, a waste of time.

Mira, in 1964 my mum and dad were supposed to be on a quiet romantic holiday for two in Alassio the year Italy won Eurovision with 'Non Ho L'Eta'. Apparently the locals played it non stop, over and over again, day and night. Everyone, from ancient grannies to tiny children, sang along with the words. :) She still has happy memories of the trip, though. And she still has a copy of the song.
