Slugs ? ooh heck. I did sprinkle some blue pelleted slug death around in the pots last night but Ive got a few frogs & even the odd hedgehog out the front so I try not to use it on the plants in the ground. I shall keep an eye on them.

Lolimac - have seeds not turned up ? I put a stamp on & everything !

Well I didn't plant mine outside last weekend as I said I was going to, it is too cold and windy. It is better off inside the greenhouse in a pot for the time being.

Phew - I was starting to worry !

If the pumpkins have survived the wind & rain, slugs & cats I might have flowers this weekend - there was definitely signs of buddage when I last checked.

Mine is really starting to get big now, but it's too flipping wet and cold to go outside. I'ts taking over the greenhouse so it will have to go out, will have to rig up some plastic protection outside until the weather picks up :dunno:

Planted mine out this morning, big hole filled with two barrows of 'orse doo dah. Plant was mounded up atop this lot. Then I fish blood and boned the whole patch, raked and watered it in. A second back up plant was planted similarly in another area, I'll cross polinate each, with each other till I get fruit set, then the second plant will be used as a plaything to try and cross summer squash with...just for fun and giggles!

            Pics to follow...

            Steve...:)

One Pumpkin in a bed on it's own in the foreground, approx 13ft x 12ft although more room could become available later on as other crops come out.

The second pumpkin is in the bed directly behind it, at the very left of it. The rest of the plants in that bed are summer squash.

My pits are 1/3 well rotten rotted horse poo, 1/3 from compost heaps, 1/3 reduced Jamie Oliver potato compost + BF&B. Going to be planting out this evening when it's cool and water them in with diluted seaweed fertilzer.

And I arrived this morning to find the wind had snapped the main stem almost through, I expect it's curtains for this one now...
