:wow: I like that Nick, where do you find these things, I think you've got a very keen nose. :heehee:

I'd make contact with the people and explain your situation, you could even offer a holding deposit. If they accept don't forget to get a receipt for it though. :)

      Go for it! :dbgrtmb:

Nick, you will end up with a few window frames and a pile of brick rubble.
Looks like it belongs on a church.

Are you sure you want that?:eeew:

that is very nice! .... sounds like you have never been to the carboot? :WINK1:

offer the guy £750 ... and negoitiate to about £1100 if you think that it's a bargain at £1500...

he will not sell it quick, as it needs a special place .... the other's interested may only want the door and the window frames .... they will offer him £400 or even less, as they will have to dismantle and remove all the steelwork and bricks aswell ...

but I think that he will not get any other offers as it's unique

if you offer £750, it's not insulting him if he has had a lower offer (or none at all) ... he wants it gone, and knows that if no-one buys it, he will have to pay to get it removed

explain the money story and give him a postdated cheque when your other cheque clears

it's worth a try and could save you some cash ....

                Folly mon,
Dim's suggestion is a pretty good one. He is seeing the scenario without the rose tinted specs that you have on.
My dear old mam used to say " jennifer, if it's meant to be......."
Maybe , have a quiet word with your mum too,

phone him and say you are prepared to pay £750, and have it dismantled yourself, and tell him that if he agrees you need a firm commitment in writing, as you have to hire labourers (that will give you time to sort your cheque) ... and give him a firm date when it will be totally removed

then hear what he counter offers and work from there .... but be hard on the £750 and try to stick to that ... tell him you are mainly interested in the windows and doors

if you don't ask, you never know ... it would be a good time to phone at this time of night ... he may be relaxed as tommorow is a holiday

and if you don't ask tonight, you won't sleep as you will be thinking about it all night

(and I'd love to see you get that, as that will blend in very well with your latest work that you have done)

                          agree with *dim*.

its not something that the average guy/girl will want, so he's open to a very small market. it will suit your style perfectly, and i think if he needs to sell quickly, he'll have to take an offer on it. £750 is a perfectly reasonable offer to start with.
