Looks quite like willow herb, but are the leaves furry? If so it is something else

I thought willow herb too. Love it when its at its best - tall pink spires and all that furry fluff afterwards.
Yeh, love it when it's nowhere near my garden,

Us Gardeners are strange though, cos at my gardening club people buy the White flowered one, but as soon as anyone sees the pink flowered one we pull it out

I'm pretty sure its willow herb too. But back to the original question, is it a weed, well no. You've kept it and potted it which means you can put it where you want it. As a weed is only a plant that grows where you don't want it, and you can put that one where you like, it is not a weed.

The willow herbs have pretty flowers but seed everywhere. Just cut the tops off when the flowers are about finished before the seeds take to the air. I think they're annual, and they are quite shallow rooted so they're dead easy to control.

Here is one growing out the drive...doing better than the one in the pot :snork:

I think you are all right about it being a willow herb? Is it the same stuff you see growing all down the sides of motorways in summer?? :dancy:

You see it everywhere, so the side of motorways would be fine too I guess. You see a lot of them beside railways for some reason.
