I have seen some wild ones similar to it, Joolz, whilst fishing in Rutland. It's a cracking poppy. Probably, because of cross pollination, it you wanted to keep it true you'd have to keep it covered.:dunno::snork:

I woke this morning to find both my poppies have opened, my little iceland poppy and also my big salmon one, the name escapes me at the moment, but a lovely sight to wake up to

With regard to the Bees on fringed poppies. This morning in the sun they were lining up to get inside. Now P. Fireworks which is a proper double with no anthers, that is a different matter.

I love poppies :dbgrtmb:. Those look great :)

We have a number of them and this is just opening. None of the others look anywhere near opening.

                  Done it for you, Spruce!!!:lunapic 130165696578242 5:

I did see Carol Klein looking at a Patty's Plum Poppy at the RHS Show last year, and to be honest it looked nothing like a Patty's Plum [too red].......to the point where I was thinking she was looking at the wrong one!!:dunno: I'm pleased with my camera's interpretation of the Poppy's true colour as it is spot on. This year it has around 14 buds on it so, weather permitting, it'll put on a good show.:snork:

These are stunning!! I had one called "Goliath" very tall and very deep red but SO short lived I don't think the huge blooms were out for more than a day or 2 which was always disappointing.

That's a shame, Val. Most of the Poppies I have usually last up to two weeks, depending on the weather of course. I'm on the look out for some more good looking Poppies but not red or pink!!:snork:
