We all know Greece is in deep trouble, but its on the news now that in the hospitals, drugs are being rationed because they just can't afford them, and charities are having to give food out on the streets.

Its awful how ordinary people suffer for the actions of their politicians and bankers. We think we've got it bad over here, I'm glad I'm here and not over there.

I have family in Greece and they are ready to burn the banks ...

sad... and it's soon coming to Spain and Italy

and something else that cheeses me off .... why is Murdock and his red haired Rebecca not in prison yet?

perhaps they have money which buys them freedom?

I'll tell you what it's like on our return. We're off to Skopelos for a fortnights holiday early July. :) Cheers, Tony.

I have a vested interest in Greece ... my bother and I own a farm in a village called Mytilene on an island called Lesbos (it was my grandfather's farm)

people are having a rough time in Greece ... huge job cuts and people are becoming poorer

they call it a farm ... it's more like a smallholding (5 acres) ... has loads of olive trees and a house that is over 200 years old (bungalow) ... nice thing is that it is on a hill which overlooks the main town and is right next to the sea ... problem is that you cannot access the beach directly, as there is a cliff .... you have to drive/cycle approx 3km to the main beach and main town centre

have my aunt living there for free , and she looks after the place and pays the taxes etc ... not much income is derived from the olives ... they are harvested, then taken to the town centre where you pay to have them crushed etc ... I do get a 5 litre can of olive oil sent to me once a year, but it's an aquired taste (it tastes different to the olive oil bought from Tesco)
