That was the plan until I made a cuppa and noticed that the tomato grow house had collapsed under the weight of water on it. Lashed it back together until the weather breaks and then I will have to fix it properly. I really need a proper green house.

I'm properly cheesed off  - between the terrible weather, and having to have all my flower seedlings stuck in their wee cups (which are now falling over and blowing around the place) because I am still waiting for these fences to be renewed (apparently there is no recession in the fencing trade, because nobody seems to want to do mine!) - - I am losing plants on a daily basis, and the ones that are left are looking increasingly straggly and rough.

          Not fair.

eerrrrrrmmmm.....Swimming :heehee: , does that count; we've just had (and its still at it) about an hour of torrential rain, there's no wind so its very slow moving. I have waterfalls down the steps and the grass has an inch of water on it!!! :hate-shocked:

Windy and wet here. The only thing I've done is move a Buddleia cutting from the planter where I'd shoved it in the compost next to the mother plant and potted it up as it's now got roots.

I may do some pruning later where some of the shrubs are getting straggly or growing in the wrong direction, but it depends whether the torrential rain which has been forecast arrives or not.

Fixed blowaway green houses yet again. Repotted all the plants that I potted up earlier in the week due to them blowing over when the greenhouse did a Mary Poppins impression. Looking at the weather earlier today they say that it's going to break next week fingers crossed.

Guess who arrived this morning without any warning?? The fencing contractor!! :dancy:

He spent the day putting our new fences up (got a bit left to do tomorrow), so I had to dig up my lupins a hollyhock and a aquilegia - couldn't get the periwinkle as it apparently had snuck through from next door.

I spent the rest of the day weighing down the polytunnel, and then weighing down the polytunnel - oh, did I tell you I had to weigh down the polytunnel?

Blasted thing kept wriggling out from under its bricks, and the wind buffeted it so badly that one of the cucumber canes inside has pierced a hole through it.

Great idea the polytunnel, but I reckon I am going to have to think seriously about a 'proper' greenhouse - I reckon the cover on the polytunnel will be lucky to see the year out, and it seems a waste to spend money on a new cover each year. Not sure how I would sit a greenhouse on a patio though.

Hope the wind dies down tomorrow, as I want to get all my seedlings (finally) out of their silly wee pots and into the garden where they should be.
