It has rained all through the night and is still raining on and off, although there are glimpses of blue sky every now and then. When you search for the Sun behind the clouds you can feel the heat even though it's hidden, so that might induce a storm or two. That would be interesting as we haven't had a really good thunder and lightning storm in what seems years. and I like watching the lightning and listening to the thunder.:snork: I say it feels warm but the outside temperature is only around 57f!:dunno:

Its been a lovely warm day on the whole, but we're getting a few nasty showers (one was more like a mini hurricane) now, one minute it was warm, sunny and no wind and then for 20 minutes TORRENTIAL rain and VERY, VERY strong winds; I'm talking gale force and then as quick as it came it was gone, back to no wind in the space of approx a minute!!!!!! :hate-shocked:

After the storm last Friday, I went out to the garden the next morning dreading what I might see. I wandered about, picking up bits here and there but I had no heart to do sensible, pratical repairs. Then, later on in the afternoon I loooked out and it was raining hard again and a poor blackbird looked at me from the trellis.
I couldn't believe it - I just burst into tears, crying like I had really lost something that mattered to me. It took my dear, long suffering OH quite a few minutes to make me stop.
I was going on about the wrecked plants, the poor birds and their young, the bees and the butterflies. All of it and I wished you were all there for me but the site was down and I couldn't comfort any of you either.
Then we all cheered up for a while because GC was back up - that was good for a moment. Now, the euphoria is starting to wear off and we are all starting to get grumpy, we all do really need that sun my lovelies, don't we....

I know what you mean Sheal, just trying my best to keep upbeat....there's a line from a film I like that says "it can't rain all the time".............or can it????:gaah:

Jenny I too looked out last night a watched 2 wood pigeons sat on our fence during the torrential rain looking well and truely fed up, they didn't even bother seeking shelter in the trees, they just sat it out getting completely drenched..

The bees just keep on battling through it, everytime the rain stops they're straight back working through all the flowers, got to feel for the little guys...:wub2:

Another wet day; rain has been light and heavy, the only positive today is that the brisk wind this morning has now gone....

It has managed to stay dry but the wind is relentless and the soft perrenials are developing a permanent list....
Certainly not warm - wouldn't wanna take a picnic on the beach today. Bought some Wallflower seeds "Persian Carpet Mix". I will sow a seed tray of them over the weekend,

Very blustery here today too, but bright and surprisingly warm, just come in from the garden for a quick tea-break, feeling quite hot and bothered so I've broken out the baggy gardening shorts. :rolleyespink:

The man on the BBC weather forecast said the southeast of England would be dry, the man on the ITV weather forecast said the southeast of England would be dry, the Met office forecast on-line said the southeast of England would be dry so why ... when 5 minutes after I took all my tools, the jigsaw, drill and the electrical lead all the way to the far end of the garden did it start flaming well raining? :gaah:
