it's no secret stash .... the UK is not like other countries in the EU that have to borrow money from the banksters and then pay it back with high interest rates

the UK kept their money printing presses, so they just print money when they need it ...

    thats the main difference

Nothing new in printing money to get out of trouble.

What is new is counties binding their selves together,by using the same currency, but being at a different economic status.
It wont work and cant work, and now Germany has to pick up the bill, well lets hope so anyway.

they seldom tell the public what really happens (especially when it comes to banking)

          http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/breaking/2012/0522/breaking59.html

          snip:

Germany will pay no interest to borrow money over two years this week

          ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

then we have Germany's Merkyl, demanding and forcing austerity measures on the poor countries of the euro and forcing them to pay interest on money that they have borrowed?...

thats one of the reasons that the Greeks and the Spanish are burning the banks ... the public are starting to understand how the bankers think and work ...

it will soon happen in Ireland aswell, unless the UK bail them out

Dim, Ireland played "pie in the sky" games with the EU money they borrowed. They have only themselves to blame for the mess they are in. It will take more than a few Sunday hail marys to shift their debt. Why should Germany bail them out?

That's an impressive piece of grammar:)

            Does it mean:

            * Germany will not pay any interest so it can borrow money in two years time from this week?

            * or, Germany will borrow money at 0% interest over 2 years starting this week?

            * or, Angela Merkel has persuaded Audi and Mercedes to collaborate on the design and construction of a time travelling helicopter, so that Germany is able to condense 2 years into this week, so as to avoid paying interest on a 2 year loan by condensing that time into no time at all?

Any country that joined the Euro thinking it would be good for them and make their monetary policies strong are now finding out it dont work that way.

It's based on the strongest country in Europe, not the weakest, as the weakest are now finding out.

I dont blame Germany, I just think some countries were a bit naieve in their thinking, and are now paying the price.
It all looked good for a while,......

Hey, Germany: You Got a Bailout, Too

In the millions of words written about Europe’s debt crisis, Germany is typically cast as the responsible adult and Greece as the profligate child. Prudent Germany, the narrative goes, is loath to bail out freeloading Greece, which borrowed more than it could afford and now must suffer the consequences.

Would it surprise you to know that Europe’s taxpayers have provided as much financial support to Germany as they have to Greece? An examination of European money flows and central-bank balance sheets suggests this is so.

I seem to remember that Chancellor Kohl was very keen on economic union and pushed it through despite the misgivings of many economists and politicians. I think it was John Major who said it was the triumph of bad politics over good economics. Well, as far as I'm concerned Germany got the damn thing and now it can darn well pay for it. Germany owes Greece big time. During the Occupation, around 40,000 Greeks starved to death in 1941 alone. Terrible things happened: I was chatting to a guy recently whose grandfather was rounded up along with all the other men in his village and shot. It's not really that long ago; it's still within living memory. More recently, the Germans have had a great time setting up the EU to suit themselves and now it's time they coughed up. Karma.

Lets hope they are not planning the same trick as last time they were cornered.

We know they have ordered a shedload of blank banknote paper from De La Rue in Scotland, we'd assumed they were getting ready to re print the Deuchmark, but what if they are printing Greek/Irish/Portuguese/Spanish Euros?

Tell me that you are not Germany.

This is an open forum, give us the reason you need so much specialist paper. Are you just concerned about running out of postage stamps?

I see to remember learning that on both sides, fake bank notes were dropped on the enemy during WW2 in order to finish them off economically by devaluing the currency.

The shops seem to have a problem with the sugar bag paper they are printed on

So I am popping down the paper mill for some off cuts tomorrow
