Tiny courgettes

    Only pick up the small or tiny ones from the veggie market. The best.

    I cut part way through with the point of a penknife then twist. Trying to cut all the way through carries the risk of continuing through into the plant, and just twisting risks snapping the courgette in two. This is more important if growing yellow courgettes which seem more brittle than geen ones, or for those 'special size' courgettes you find on return from holidays and if you twist them you risk uprooting the entire plant.

      I do the same as Scrungee unless I have a lot to pick. Then I cut them with a large pair of secateurs - through the stalk between the courgette and the main stem.
