i think for the money they are going for, it would be rude not too!! a few admittedly were a bit ropey, but generally they were very good value for money. i might get 2 tomorrow. i've never had one, but for good impact for the cash, i think they're a bargain.

they did have small (ish) ones for 7 quid, but for more than double the size for £14 is a no brainer.

I bought 2 Dhalias today too. Very similar to your 2 as well :dbgrtmb:

The taller one (on mines) has a pink flower and the smaller one has a beautiful shade of lemon.
Also, they came with the Dobbies 5 year guarantee and classed as hardy, so if they don`t overwinter, free replacement. Happy days

I intend to put them in planters though and shelter them (as much as possible) come winter time though. No need for neglect, just cos they can be replaced.

Edit to add names. One is a D. Cezanne and the other is D. Happy single.

Bought six Hawkshead Fuchsia for four quid today.................

        DSC_2388.jpg

The Shore Grow gel feed were five for four pounds too. I know nothing about it, but as I have ten Iochroma growing I thought that I could try it on two and see how it does.

I bought this Hosta off our local market yesterday for £2, it's huge and will only get bigger....:dbgrtmb:, I measured the largest leaf at 11" across, shame there's no label as I don't know the exact variety..

          Plants 157.jpg

Although I didn't buy them I also managed to get 2 carrier bags full of Colchicum corms (about 18-20) today off freecycle, the variety should be 'Water Lily', can't wait for the flowers now...

I've only just caught up with this thread - I love it! OH doesn't really understand the pleasure I get out of new plants. 'Look at this one!', I shriek. 'It's a plant', he says balefully, 'it's got leaves'. I have no room at all left in my garden but I still can't resist the odd new plant. Did any of you see that programme on hoarders a while back? There were people who could no longer use their living rooms because of the hideous junk piled up to the ceiling. It's easy to snigger but sometimes I think I'm only one step away from this kind of madness. One day, my family will have to live in the street because the sofa has plants all over it. :)

Now, I know what you're thinking. You're underwhelmed, aren't you? And it's not just because the picture is horribly out of focus. Seven quid for that? I was done. But I have high hopes for this one. I grew Cestrum parqui for a while. It had a fantastic evening scent but the green flowers weren't very exciting. This hybrid of Cestrum parqui, 'Cretan Purple', has clusters of mauve flowers and is apparently still scented, although I suspect not as heavily as its parent. I haven't been out to give it a sniff at night yet so I'll let you know whether that's the case. Don't know where I'm going to put it yet. Possibly a pot on the roof.

It's smashing Clare. I hope it's perfume (not SMELL @ £7) is as good as its parents.
What I love about GC is the knowledge you acquire just from reading the threads.
                    I'm off to Google it.
Not a waste of money. No plant or shrub that give one a buzz is a waste of money Clare....

Bit of an impulse buy and a bargain, 2 x Fuchsia Paula Jane for £1.50 each from the local farm shop. A bit pot bound so had to pot them on so I can think about where to put them

Picked up a Callistemon Citrinus Splendens half price (£5) and an Agapanthus Luly, usi ng my Fathers Day Garden token.
Citrinus Splendens is a bit risky knowing we had a couple of -8/9cs last winter so I'll have to keep an eye on this one.
