My Lawn

Thought I would show you all 'before and after' pics of my lawn. Hopefully you can tell which is which! I am a bit of a perfectionist/pedantic/fussy person so when I finished it I wasn't v happy with it. Looking at the pics though I think it's an improvement - even if I do say so myself! Was hard work to do though - ripping up the old grass, getting rid of the bigger stones, adding some topsoil and sand, leveling out, laying the turf, watering it 'til it got established etc and just me doing it.

So yeah please let me know what you think - good or bad!

Very nice job indeed.

I changed a bit of my garden from pebbly rubbish to grass and yours looks much better than mine.

Thanks for your replies and the people who 'liked' the thread . I did wonder if it was like I was asking for praise but it wasn't like that! Though of course that's always nice. I guess I just posted to show you can make a good improvement with not much cash and a bit of effort - well ok quite a bit of effort lol.

Bit more info (cause I like hearing about and seeing other peoples gardens so I figure others are the same?) :

The border to the left (currently sectioned off from the lawn with a assortment of bricks but soon to be replaced with log roll or something) contains spring onion seedlings.

The 2 plant pots near the shed (at the top of the pic) contain Asianic Lillies and the seedlings next to them (with optimistically long bamboo canes!!) are sunflower plants.

Lol yeah I do! Or at least a 'managed' natural/left to nature look rather than the 'out of control' look I had before! Like to the right of the shed (that you can see in the second pic) I have planted a kinda cottage flowers assortment to break things up a bit and stop it looking too clinical.

No weed yet though plenty of mushrooms but now it's rooted I've cut down on the watering so hopefully that will help. Oh and the chafer bugs are taking a great interest but I'm out on a regular basis with my electric tennis bat thingy! Not quite sure what the neighbours think as I swing a mini tennis bat around my garden!
