grass problems

whats happening to my grass , second year running and it looks terrible , please help

 

Probably needs some aerating, scarifying and feeding. The same as mines.

If you do all three above and still have problems, there could be underlying soil quality problems. I gave my front lawn a feed and with that alone, the difference is immense.

You haven`t given us much to go on though.

 

Do you have a dog, the greener bits may be where the dog has been for a pee

 

no this is where i tried planting other grass last year . the first year the lawn was fantastic.

 

Is your lawn ontop off soil with rocks in it? I have seen a lawn that looked very similar and when you tried to dig a fork into it you would sometimes hit rocks.

 

Looks like its not mowed often enough to me (could be something else though). Do you mow it at least once a week from March-October? (and preferably twice when it is growing strongly)

So are you mowing it every week, without fail, then?

Sorry to push the point, but that it isn't clear from the photos Clearly it was nicely mowed in the Before photo.

 

To me it just looks like its not being looked after.
Is it even the same garden ?
