Tropaeolum Speciosum

I've got some tropaeolum speciosum in a pot which i think I must have grown from seed some years ago. It's time it was liberated into the garden. Where's the best spot for it?
Is it better on acid soil?

 

Yes acid soil and damp bottom of a hedge as well gives it somthing to climb plus protection in the winter as it is only half hardy , you done well to grow from seed

Well maybe in "Surburban Paradise" its a lot warmer

Something I have tried on a few occasions but never succeeded with.
I think its very fussy, and would be reluctant to move it, damp shade, but not heavy soil, maybe climbing into the sun.

But then what do I know, I cant grow it.

It's not looking very spectacular. Just a mass of weedy stems in a bucket, really!
