I spent four hours working on an 80ft hedge, mind you it's not the trimming so much as the clearing up that takes the time. I watered all my garden pots and tomatoes in the greenhouse and hour or so ago. :)

Not much today, just fertilized the lawn ( no need to water in mother nature will take care of this tomorrow )
Might go to b&q tomorrow to see if anything catches my eye

If the hedge is adjacent to lawn (rather than, say, gravel path) then mowing with a rotary should remove most of the material :blue thumb:

Did loads of mowing yesterday. Nothing scheduled to be done today as it's peeing down and doing a good job of the watering

Salgor, the verbascum should do OK as long as there is some stem there. It may even produce multiple small flowering heads. When our verbascum finish flowering we cut some of them back and they then produce multiple heads, around the main stem, that flower later in the summer. I don't think the broken bit will take but it's always worth trying. :dbgrtmb:

I sprayed yet more aphids with soapy water last night. As soon as you kill them they pop up somewhere else

Still haven't managed to mow the lawn or do anything more energetic because the lurgy has worsened, plus it's now raining and forecast to do so all weekend, so nowt will get done.
