An elderly lady friend of ours, who doesn't drive, found a car parked outside her house one day.
10 days later, being unable to identify it by asking neighbours, she asked the Police to check is as a suspected abandoned vehicle.
It turned out to belong to the niece of a Spanish guy at the end of the street, who said it would be alright for her to leave the car there for a couple of weeks whist she was in Florida on holiday. He said he would keep an eye on it for her.
He got a bit upset when it was towed.:dunno:

I used to have issues with neighbours parking years ago, and despite numerous discussions they never really got the message - usually blocking me in or out of my drive (shared access to three drives bit like an E shape). They did get the message rather quickly when I parked my car at the end of the drive one evening (I was blocked out), and then got in the bath for a nice long soak......... by the time I bothered myself to go out and move my car, they all realised the error of their ways.

I only had to repeat the performance once when new neighbours moved in - so I happened to 'stop off' at home when on a break from work and left a double decker parked right across the drive - short, sharp lesson.

One Saturday (recently) I heard the OH pull onto our drive, and then nothing, no front door opening, I opened the front door to find it wasn't the OH it was two young ladies who parked on the drive, I very politely (no, really it was polite) asked what they were thought they were doing, and they said "you are not using it" I think my face said it all, they promptly moved the car and parked infront of the neighbour they were visiting's house.

when I moved in my village, in the mornings on my way to work, I used to drive into a neighbour's driveway, then reverse and drive in the opposite direction (it was easier than making a 3 point turn in a narrow road) ...

done that several times until one morning she came storming out in her nightgown and slippers and just stared at me

I realized that she disapproved ....

          :)

No its not being mean, its simply because you didn't ask first.

dunno ... in South africa, such trivial things don't need approval ... neighbours tend to be friendlier
