What's that got to do with piddle?

They used to make gunpowder using "p"(Think it was gunpowder)

They also used to P into the solution they used in making felt hats, but that want as bad as the mercury that was also in it. (I knew watching Mark Williams in "Industrial revelations" would be handy one day)

 

it's to do with Genetically modified crops and plants and chemicals (such as glyphosate, roundup etc ) .... which was the original content/title of the thread

 

Plus leathermaking, plus in use of alum for dyeing.

P.S. I seemed to have missed the reference to GM crops in the OP/Post Title, and still can't seem to find it, not that I buy/use anything GM or use Glyphosate or any other nasty chemical stuff myself.

 

Makes a change from aliens being responsible I suppose.

 

It's about time scientists and others responsible for this stopped messing with the way nature works. It nearly always ends with disaster.

Perhaps. I understand its there just because there is a very real risk of us losing all sorts of species. Not just because of GM. And before we start putting all the blame on the big corporations, we should also consider how many ordinary folk have flowerbeds filled with F1 hybrids and sterile cultivars while our native wildflowers are in decline.
