The pink purslane grows in one of the gardens I work in, an old farmhouse garden. It is very attractive but spreads everywhere, including the neighbouring country lanes so I wouldn't recommend it. I do allow it to flower but not to set seed. I am surprised nobody has noticed SS's deliberate mistake as no 3 is not Pointsettia. It is Euphorbia mellifera, a lovely architectural plant that smells of honey when it flowers in April/May.
You are probably correct scillonian, bearing in mind pic was taken on the Isle of Wight. I thought when I posted it was maybe Madeira.! Normally Euphorbia mellifera look healthier than that specimen. https://davisla2.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/euphorbia-mellifera.jpg
The photo does have a very mediterranean (or madeiran) look about it SS. This specimen is a bit past its best, I agree, hopefully there will be young seedlings around to take it's place it does self seed well.
