be honest didn`t really look Japanese , expecially the red (chinese) pot , the other 2 garden looked really nice , but i was well happy for Francis , she really deserved a nice garden .....not sure about the bamboo with that tiny root barrier , the black decking and the £2000 pond table.

Yes I didn't see how it was very Japanese  and I really dislike that bamboo screening if it's not replaced every few years it goes a horrible grey colour and can start to go kinda mouldy

Hi, glad to see something associated with gardening at last on the TV. I agree with others though, she really does deserve somewhere to chill and reflect. I lost my dad to cancer and he spent as much time as he could just sitting in his garden which he got great comfort from.
And yes, not very 'Japanese'. But then a Japanese garden is such a tall order in a week. Unless you spend thousands on ready made/pruned cloud trees, pines, e.t.c.
The planters were not to my taste either and yes, those bamboo screens are gonna need attention to keep up to scratch especially as they are nailed to the neighbouring fence.
BUT, mission achieved I think, and I wish Francis many happy hours to come in her garden.
