Colour of links on Watched Threads seems to have changed, maybe related?

I'll put the word eBay in here and see what happens ...

Interestingly it took its time to convert it ... perhaps that happens first time it is displayed and has to actually "resolve" all the words

Kristen, your mention of eBay didn't turn into a link for me. It seems it doesn't always, which is why I thought it was fixed back towards the beginning of this thread but I guess not.

I've just tried searching google to see if there is a Chrome plugin to get rid of skimwords. I didn't find anything, however for every search term I tried, every result on page 1 was about other people trying to get rid of it:)

            Seems its not very popular.

I got that too ... but I doubt people who were ambivalent, or even thought it was fantastic, would bother to post anything ... so the results are probably skewed.

I'd prefer adverts based on content that did not give the impression that I had added the link myself though (notwithstanding the ToolTip, which takes a moment to appear, and now means I have to wait to check every one before actually clicking-through on real links posters here have provided

            Test:

            ebay

            Code:
            ebay

Edit: Skimwords doesn't seem to work within 'quotes'

I, also, don't like links put in my posts that I haven't put there myself. I've started working on ways around it. I edited one of my posts to get rid of it. I added a space in the word (although it annoys me to have to do it). If I put a space in mobil e phone it won't put the link. I'll also try putting quotes but that seems as though I'm trying to emphasise things. Here goes - 'mobile phones' "mobile phones" mobile phones.

Edit: It hasn't highlighted any of them yet.

Edit 2: It has now highlighted the unaltered one but not those in quotes or with a space in them.

            Test #2:

            'ebay'

            *ebay*

            <ebay>

            "ebay"

            .ebay.

            ebay?

            ebay

Edit: Skimwords doesn't seem to add add any further links to repeated words. Only enclosing with punction marks (or putting it in BBC quotes) seem to stop it from working.
