Camera that sees round corners

Basically, some boffins have made a camera that sees round corners. Better still, they are not keeping the technology secret, but rather are opening it up to make an 'open source' community to perfect it.

So, 20 years from now when the technology is in everyone's mobile phone, I wonder what it will be used for. My first thoughts are...

1. Military. Imagine storming a compound, and knowing exactly who is where long before you can see them.

2. Search and rescue. Seeing who is trapped where, even before that mangled girder is moved.

3. Blackmail and extortion. Your mate's wife should have thought about that beforehand.

 

Whats wrong with popping your head around the corner for a quick nosie?
