I presume you don't have a greenhouse/conservatory? It does need a lot of light and some humidity which is difficult to provide in a house.

Hi stronglyodon, I have just got a greenhouse , just waiting for the other half to do a bit of mortaring round the joints at the base so its not fully up and running. I have put the wee fella in there tho and its a tad warmer than outside and keeping all the rain and wind off him. I hope it makes a difference:)

Honestly, Brugs can be stroppy little buggers. I have various cuttings and plants and only a few look like a healthy Brugmansia's. All this rain, wind and lack of sunshine isn't helping. See how it fares in the greenhouse and see how it goes!

LOL, it definitely isn't a cabbage! I think it looks healthy too.

I've got a suaveolens, probably off the same ebay seller. I think I've got 4 or 5 brugs, various varieties. They all seem healthy, but not growing very fast, and several have that thing where they have a long stem with small leaves coming out all along the stem. As well as that they've got a big cluster of proper large leaves in a cluster at the top. I've been wondering about those small leaves as well - have we got an experienced brug expert to tell us if that's normal?

Mine all look terrible, anyway, because a nearby rambling rose broke free from its support while I was away for a few days and lashed them all to pieces. The new leaves'll grow out eventually but they do look tatty right now.

Hi Madahhila, Im maybe just nervous lol, because i try to take good care of this little fella and I just thought he looks mighty odd!! (he probs thinks the same about me!) :snork: . I dont suppose this bad summer is helping. Its been like autumn here in Wilts today). Im sorry to hear that your brugs got lashed by the rose but Ive no doubt they will look wonderful very soon. Im new to all this. I bought some seeds (sanguinea) on ebay and they seem to be doing okay for the time being. I did buy another one on ebay without doing some research first. Herrenhausen garten - I have since heard its very difficult to get it to flower, so thats probably 13 quid down the pan but hey you live and learn eh?.
Im just going to be patient and sit back and .... er watch lol

Not really - if it doesn't flower you can just take cuttings and flog them on ebay for £13 a time. Simples!
