I'm with you there. Haven't been able to cut the lawn for a month. When I'm home it rains. When I'm working it "sometimes isn't".
It'll take a couple of days of dry to allow me to mow now as it's so long.

How do you measure a good year? You have to have had a bad year to compare it with, this is that year. What we grow in subsequent years will seem like a bonanza in comparison and will cheer us all much more than it normally would.

Yes it's dissapointing, but I dont think their is a gardener in the land who is unaffected by this years dreadful weather.

    Steve...:)

Approx 85% of early planted spuds rotted in the ground without showing. 'Luckily' I left mine 'till late and only lost about 50% in the soggy, wet, clayey slop. There are no apples on my trees. My courgettes have been going backwards since I planted them out and about a third are terminal cases. The outdoor cucumbers have made one leaf in about 2 - 3 weeks. My indoor cucumbers all died. My onion bed got flooded out and had to have drainage ditches dug around it, then the winds did their worst. Slugs ate all of my sunflowers (even the mini ones in pots under cover) and half of my sweet peas. My outdoor tomato plants have started recovering and will soon look as good as they did when I planted them out. The indoor tomatoes suffered because they had hundreds of indoor toms sharing with them whilst waiting to go out. I sowed runner beans again about week ago and when the rain stops I'll feed the slugs again. All the radishes bolted. I've got rust on loads of my garlic.

My lettuces have done really well, but too well, as despite successional sowings I've got over a hundred all ready at the same time.

          Cheers Kaz !
But I do prefer the cold , grey , wet ,windy days here . Rather than lying on a sunlounger overlooking the Aegean in 38° and eating lovely Turkish lamb kebabs , it was hell but I did it:hapydancsmil:

Ther is no reply to that :snork:
Unfortunately no Zig , we had a real lazy one. The only thing I saw was a sun shade when lying down and a bottle of Efes when I sat up.:hapydancsmil:
We went to Icmeler Kaz, clear blue skies light breeze and one earthquake ! A very small one my seat wobbled , I thought a lorry had gone past .

Every evening after work, we'd go back to the compound & there were 2 ice cold Efes's 2 glasses and a bottle opener waiting on the table for my mate & I [IMG]

There is nothing like an Ice cold Efes at Efes time ! it really is a lovely beer , they use rice as well as grain to make it. They now also do Efes Xtra at 7.5% alcohol , lovely taste , but one is enough at that strength !

Only managed to get hold of 4 cans of Efes Xtra the whole time I was out there. It sold out as soon as they got it in.
