Nothing is growing

We are all winging it about the bad weather , the rain , the spring that we never had and the summer that is almost gone , let see what we are really talking about .
Runner bean , planted beginning of May , just come out now .

worst of all Solanum betaceum , planted at the beginning of March kept on the window cill , it should have been around 4 to 5 feet.

Cherry tomato , seeded at the end of March

Hardy hibiscus seeded at the beginner of March

king coleus and Solanum quitoense , seeded late February

and finally some papaya , from late February .

 

Like the Woodlouse

Nothing is growing this year

 

Its crap ..ive got half oak barrels full of tom tumblers and gartenperle doing nothing just the odd floweri feel like il never see a day lillie or dahlia
I love woodlouse and blackjacks

 

Zig i`ll promise you will not kill that Woodlouse , i will careful capture and put in a save place like .....my sarracenia pitch........if i`ll post a picture of my sarracenia you will understand straigh away wich one keep fiding the same one.

 

You know this has given me heart. Sorry. Is just my first year with a garden, and nothing is growing in my garden apart from hydrangeas and my hedge. There's not very much to grow in the first place as the borders were bare when I moved in. I was starting to think the previous tenant had placed a garden curse on me. But no, it's just a crappy summer and even people who proper garden are having trouble. I feel encouraged! :p

 

Grass is growing - too wet for mowing!

 

I sowed some Red Alert tomato seeds on 31st January and still haven't got a ripe fruit from them yet! http://gardenerscorner.co.uk/forum/threads/early-tomatoes.40082/#post-507696 I was hoping to get some toms in May.

 

This is unfortunate but reassuring news , that most others plants are struggling . Some of my plants have flowered , but I still have a lot of green ! To top this I have also had poor germination this year on some seeds . Rust wiped out all my salvias and thunbergias , and to top all this I think the Slugs n Snails have been far more numerous this year. We are doomed! Doomed , I tell you !

worked at a garden yesterday that I landscaped from scratch

ferns, hostas, the lawn, acers, huechera, hakonechloa macra auerola, fatsia, palms, honeysuckle, star jasmine, clematis armandii apple blossom, mock orange, sambucus, acers and a few more are looking very healthy and growing strongly .... weeds are growing even stronger

Musa Basjoo, T-rex, alocasia mayan mask and ricinus have stalled and show very little growth in the past 2-3 months ... they look ok, and think that they will grow rapidly if (and when) the temps get higher than 20 degrees C

 

About what I've noticed as well. If it likes cool and damp it's doing pretty good. If it likes it sunny and warm it's just sat there sulking. The slugs are HUGE this year.......

 

I've been using the blue slug pellets (rainproof) since mid Feb .... There is not 1 hole in any of the hostas (there are 10 large leaved ones), and I have not seen 1 slug/snail in that garden (it's a small garden ... approx 100 square meters)

 

My trees, shrubs and hedges have grown amazingly compared to the last two years (when we had bone-dry Spring months). Flowering things are a bit delayed though.

 

Sounds like my sort of garden!
