Since the very recent death of my husband I now find myself with time on my hands,
Would there be any interest in trying to re-establish a seed swop again.
We would be keeping the rules formerly established with me being very firm (unless very good excuse )about how long a parcel remains with people, also no very new members just blagging (is that the correct term) seeds .
If you are interested pm me with a view to summer seed collection ,so we could start rolling out about perhaps October/November so we are all ready to start sowing at the appropriate times.

So sorry to hear of your loss Pam, positive thoughts and well-wishing to you at this time.

I would be happy to seed swap but I fear I can be rubbish and disorganised about gardening really and so I'd probably be more of a hinderance than anything.

Its so simple you will be able to track who has it and calculate when about it will be with you, Have envelopes ready to put any loose seeds you want, you will already have any seed ready to go in parcel you are contributing, you will have 3 days to look up anything you not sure of .repack parcel post.Just like ordering from a seed catalogue with more of a lucky dip surprise

The Exotic Seed Swap was done all-to-JWK and all-back-out again. That modified a bit with some peer-to-peer bypass where A sent direct to B and so on.

I favour this as the round robin parcel (sorry, I'm presuming that's the current plan?) gains seeds as it goes, plus loses some too, so when it arrives at X there may not yet be things that would be of interest.

Participants could send you an envelope with all their seeds in it, and include an SAE for the return journey. In the event of over-subscription for a seed then the referee (you!) would have to adopt some sort of rationing - first-come-first-server perhaps, or perhaps favour people who provided seed over those who just want some.

Of course that leaves you doing all the work! but you did volunteer

I'd be interested in this. Don't have too many exotic plants, but I have a big tin with quite a lot of seeds in (some commercial, some collected myself).

              Sincerest condolences Pam.

As I`m new to gardening I wouldn`t have a clue how to select/collect seeds. If someone were to keep me right, I reckon by October I could have it sussed though.

I`d be more of a giver than a taker since I don`t have a lot of space but certainly would be willing to donate. Not sure I`d have anything worth taking though.

A seed swap sounds like a lovely idea; would you do it by mail or meet up or some combination of both? Are all seeds allowed?
