Here come the Daylilies

This morning, at last, we almost have sun. Don't know how long it will last. Hope you're not going to get that awful rain forecast, I am pants at geography but some parts have got an amber warning. Just about had enough now and getting a bit worried about daylily lunch on 14th. Can't believe it but loads of for sale plants are still in bud and only plant sale this year at the weekend. Need I go on? Moany me. On a positive nearly at peak and magical blooms coming out so will keep going

 

Its so hot and muggy here, we have had a fairly dry afternoon so did a bit of deadheading in the rain at one point,lol, its pouring with raining again now and thundering, I've given up watching the forecast Pollie too depressing, Rob informs me we're getting 2inches of rain tomorrow,lovely .
I've been moaning today too all the roses are ruined and the bottom of the gardens like a bog, nearly went flat on my backside down the hill today,lol.
But yes the daylilies are still blooming and loads of buds, shame about your for sale ones still being in bud,mind you thats how I'd like them,lol, suppose people like to see them in flower before they buy then.
Well haven't got round to taking pictures today and looking at the weather any that did look good will be ruined but here's one from yesterday.

Whoops, be careful. I was worried about you because I thought you must be in the bad area. Hope it'll be OK. We lost a huge bit of Scots Pine yesterday, just absorbed the water until got so heavy it broke. The garden is well and truly ruined really, our rose poles rotted and fell down, could moan on for ever. Lol. Love UFO. Take care tomorrow

No , they develope a scape(stalk) on the end lots of buds like this, 1st year maybe only the 1 scape but as they estabish you can gets lots my Black emanuel has about 10 scapes all coverd with buds

Daylily 'Flamboyant Edges' a new one last year this ones a double, only really got into the doubles a couple of years ago and I'm finding they can take a while before the flowers show their true form, its trying it has 4 petals

Hi again folks.

Had a look at Pollies thingy and downloaded the catalogue Unless I didn't look in the right place, there didn't seem to be any cultural guidance? I assume they are hardy and can be left in the ground? Would 5 plants make a reasonable (if smallish) display? How far apart? I assume they are targets for Red Lily Beetle? My soil is quite acidic, would this be ok? Sorry for all the questions, but no doubt there will be more
