Hi, I am new to this site and new to greenhouse growing.

I have 5 sweet pepper plants all of a decent size with lots of peppers developing after they flower. The problem is they keep dropping off, the stalks turn yellowy and they snap off. Any idea what is causing this?

    Thanks

    Sam

How often should you water them?

    Poor pollination?
Tap the flowers around mid day, when and if its warm and sunny.

most prob a dumb question .... but would pollination matter if the peppers have already developed? (they have already been polinated?)

I'm showing my inexperience, I mean they flower and look like they are about to develop then they drop off

    Hi Sam.

Just to clarify. What you're saying is that so far, there have been no signs of the actual peppers, correct? If so, it sounds like they haven't pollinated. This being the case, follow pete's advice. What I do (which is probably over the top) is to go round with a soft brush, just 'tickling' the flowers.

    Cheers...Freddy

Yes that's correct. Does the tapping & tickling need to be at midday or can it differ from day to day? I work funny hours.

    Hi Sam.

I think that it's something that can be done at any time in the afternoon, but mid-day is probably the optimum time. If you look closely, you should be able to see the pollen flow as you do this:blue thumb:
