Took the guillotine to the bolted Onions,
Unable to do anything else, due to the constant rain
Grass is now nearly 12" high

Company with Amazon replaced my broken camera with one phone call, a brandnew one arrived at 07:30 this morning, and the courier arrived at 16:20 to take the old one back
All in less than 24 hours, (I have worried over a week about this, looking at writing £300 off after three weeks use)

I have lots to do in the Garden, but it is too wet,
I also need to remove builders rubble after the new build wall, but just can not face shoveling it up in the rain after two weeks of 35c sunshine :-(

Nick , wish you lots better. :dbgrtmb:

After getting lots done on Tuesday, and then having trouble with my back, I took it a bit easier yesterday. I got some housework done and then went round the garden pulling tall weeds, mainly bindweed that is coming through shrubs or tall plants. Filled three buckets with it. Mrs Shiney got loads done in the garden. She potted up dozens of cuttings, did proper weeding, filled two wheelie bins with pruned variegated dogwood, increased the height of the bonfire heap by 3ft with the woody parts of the dogwood, pruned back the winter honeysuckle and a load of dog roses that were getting too rampant.

Today I'll also do some laser cutting of edges as that can be done with me standing upright.

have been brewing 25 litres of compost tea since yesterday morning ....

I will add the final touches (30ml of biobizz algae/seaweed extract, 30ml of biobizz fish mix, and 30ml of advanced nutrients igunana juice) .... and will use that on a small garden that I have been experimenting with, using the high brix fertilizing methods

Mowed lawns front and back, done some weeding and dead heading. Planted A buddelia buzz into its final pot. Cleared front garden where next doors garden has encroached onto mine, now thinking of a planting scheme for the 2 areas.

Well, I was going to cut the grass, but as soon as I picked the wee one up from the school, it started raining - I didn't even make it out of the school playground before it started! How does it know when I finish work?

Managed to cut the grass down to three inches high (dry day but grass still a bit wet)
Hopefully we will have another dry night and I can do a final cut in the morning

Had eightyear-old grandson round today, so let him dig up his six Swift early potatoes, and bag all twentyfour (just smaller than tennis balls) up to take home to his Mum

Sprayed Tomatoes with Epsom Salts and main crop tatties with Bordeaux mixture

Hope you not sidelined too long Nick, take it easy when you return the garden mate.:blue thumb:

                  Myself over the last couple of days, well;

I've got the other lawn cut, taking the tops of several ants nests in the process exposing the eggs which the birds were very grateful for..:snork:

Cut back MORE of that blinking russina vine (mile a minute vine :yikes:) from the neighbours, I know it grows fast but this year it really is taking the biscuit.

Lifted my last lot of spuds, they weren't supposed to be ready until August/September, but the flowers had been and gone and the leaves were yellowing, so I lifted a couple and found some HUGE spuds amongst others that were tennis ball sized; the whole lot come up then. Also found one or two had started rotting on one end, presumably because the ground was just sooo wet and soggy, glad I lifted them early now otherwise they may have all been rotten in another 6-8 weeks or so. Can't remember the variety but they were sold as lates and are pink skinned...very happy with the amount I've got from 3 rows though :dancy:

Also continuing to harvest the peas, raspberries and strawberries.

Got rid of a small row of Pak Choi as they had bolted at just 3" tall even though they are in lovely moist fertile ground, last year I could understand it as it was so dry but this year?, with all the rain?:dunno:

Not able to do much because of my back - but it's gradually improving :dbgrtmb:

So far today I've cleaned out the bird feeders and refilled them. One was rather difficult as it's 3ft tall and the seed had got wet and rotted at the bottom. Although I have a bottle brush for it the brush can't reach the bottom - too many cross bars to get past. So I have to use wire that I bend and put through the feeding holes and wiggle it about. This shifts some and then I hose it through - and then do it again and again. Half an hour to do just a reasonable job on it. Then I stood it in the sun to dry out.

Whilst it was drying I gave the runnerbeans some help. I regularly help them wind round the canes, string and wires. This seems to help them to grow faster and also stops them running off and climbing other plants. It has taken them a while for the flowers to set this year and I reckon we're about 2 - 3 weeks behind last year.

Some of the plants have really got into their stride and are a good 10ft long and producing loads of side runners and loads of flowering side shoots. I'm doing them differently this year and have run wires and string as supports across the tops of the canes to the next row. I'm hoping this will let them grow longer but still be supported over my head, and that I can pick beans that dangle down. I'm spending about 10 minutes a day training them on the strings and wires and it seems to be working.

Decided to cut my back lawn today. It`s absolutely saturated and if it didn`t rain for a month, the ground still wouldn`t have dried out. Crocosmias in the middle are ruined since they don`t like sitting in water. That`s after raising the soil level 6 inches in there as well.
I just had to bit the bullet and cut the grass. It`ll recover in time. I thought about the strimmer but at about 100 square metres, it was too much. Just used the mower and stopped every minute or so to un-clog it :pathd:

Also did some dead-heading. My Dahlias are really coming on now and am glad I bought them.
