    I'm with you there Sheal.
When I'm working the sun's out and I'm baking in the car.
When I get home it starts to rain and rains every weekend. The grass is so long now it will take days of sun to be dry enough for my rotary hover.

Amen. I had a wonderful present of a greenhouse in June so toms are going really well, and the one cuke that survived is big, tho not fruiting! Solent garlic has been brilliant but today I finally called time on the pathetic veg beds and hoed up the useless, rotting, slug eaten lettuces and spinach etc. Very depressing.

Pots look OK but I'm too scared to dig 'em up! Don't know whether to sow lettuce and spinach in the veg beds for one last hoorah, or just give up 'till Spring.

So today we went to the allotment because we needed some potatoes for tea. It was raining..shock horror but we still went! I also was going to pick some strawberries and sweetpeas..

No sweetpeas, no strawberries but managed a few potatoes for tea tonight.. We also decided to dig up the onions as they are mostly ruined but may be able to eat asap a couple.

Of course the pots and onions covered in thick gloopy mud..What fun

It grieves me to read all your tales of produce planted with love and eager anticipation. And to witness it all perishing - that's so disheartening.
All I can offer you all is a big :grphg:.

just thought - the price of UK grown fruit and veg. is going to be at a premium soon.

Same as you Pam, planted two cucumbers in a big pot, just outside of the greenhouse, one eaten by slugs the other has survived so I've put it into the greenhouse sprinkled with slug pellets.
THEY are not getting that one!

Funnily enough our lemon tree has lemons which is developing fast on it, surprisgingly, consider our quite frankly, c**p summer.

I feel your frustrations though as one of our bell pepper plants has ground to a halt, the fruit will probably rot and fall off now knowing my luck!

The stems of the Campanula Trachelium were full of blackfly an hour ago. They are growing up through the tomatoes in the window box. I've had to extricate each stem and spray it. Uuuugh!
I want to eat the toms!!

Just had a bright thought chaps.
All this moisture must be good for the Camellias. They are putting on so much growth.
That's another job for today:sprinkle round the roots with Epsom Salts.
